Block harassing comments and trackbacks in the control panel

You can add a comment or trackback to a blacklist with a single click via the Trackbacks control panel. This means that you don't have to physically type in the name of the host you are blocking.

- By clicking on the Host button, you will be shown a list of host names where you can select one by clicking on it.
- By clicking on an individual host name or clicking on Deny, that host name will be added to the black list.
(The host name will be added to the blacklist the same as if it were manually typed in)
- If you click on Deny again while they are blocked you can remove that host name from the blacklist.

Set up a confirmation page (Captcha)

Captcha (character recognition confirmation page) is one way of avoiding being spammed by robots as it requires the poster to correctly input characters that are filled with extra "noise" and cannot be read by a machine .

To set up Captcha go to Settings > Blog Settings > Comment Settings then click on the bar in Comment confirmation settings.

- Here you can choose to install a confirmation page or not.

- Here the comment poster must read and enter the corresponding characters.

Posting a comment will take a bit longer because the poster has to read and correctly enter the characters into the confirmation page, but this an effective process for preventing automatic posts by robots.
